“Happiness is time spent with a friend and looking forward to sharing time with them again.” - Lee Wilkinson
Talk about a fitting quote…I’ve had a couple of great days…spending time with two different girlfriends, chatting over lunch, catching up, exchanging ideas and just having a great time!
There is just something about girlfriends - an openness, a willingness to open up and an understanding that comes from experiences shared. Do you agree?
Hugs and Kisses, Breakfast in Bed, Flowers, Cards and new fuzzy slippers. I’ve been spoiled by my family. And yes - I enjoy it. And they seem to enjoy giving… Yet I can’t help but feel guilty for the money spend, and the “buying into the Hype”…
While I do see the background of Mothers Day as a lovely idea, to honour the women who give so much, I don’t think I agree on the insanity that has become another “season” for retailers - just like Valentines Day. It has become such a commercial event, that the original idea seems to have almost disappeared.
Seek not to avoid all effort, for that would curse you with unbearable
emptiness. Seek instead to fill your life with meaningful efforts that
resonate with your deepest purpose.
Your ability to make a difference is one of your greatest blessings.
The more often you put that ability into practice, the more fulfilling
your life will be.
You have your own special gifts to give to all of life. The intense
longing within you is a longing to make a positive difference in your
own unique way.
The universe in which you live is so wonderfully diverse and abundant
that there are countless ways for you to create new value. You know each time you find one of those ways because it feels so right.
Don’t settle for the meaningless trinkets that will soon rust and fade
away. Build your life upon those efforts and resulting accomplishments
that express the true beauty of who you are.
The time you invest in meaningful effort will produce rewards that
continue to grow more valuable. And you’ll fill your life with a
richness that can never be taken away.
I’ve been watching gas prices sky rocket - literally - in the last couple of years. Prices go up, companies watch consumers struggle, then the carrot comes out, prices get lowered a little, and just as we’re getting over that sticker shock - up they go again.
All the while, as the consumer suffers at the pump, oil companies are posting the biggest profits EVER. Am I against making a profit? No. BUT…there has to be a limit as to how far companies can influence the market - by restricting output and number of refineries.
With all the money made - is it really TOO much to ask for a couple of new refineries? Or, better yet, for money invested in alternative energy sources?
